STANLEY #8 JOINTER TYPE 4  Pre-Lateral

STANLEY #8 Jointer, 24″L, 2 5/8″W, 9 3/4lbs, 1898-1961.

See the photo’s they tell the story.

A nice early example of the Stanley Bailey Jointer. The japanning was in rough shape when I found it so it’s been sandblasted and repainted with Engine enamel

I sharpen and tested this plane. This is how it works

Also note there is some minor pitting for about 1/4″ of the blade. The ruler trick should be used until it’s sharpened past it (although the new owner could choose to grind it off, I would not suggest wasting that much usable blade)
