Vintage Leg Vise – Patented R.W.Thickens
I picked this up several years ago thinking I would add it to my leg vise. It’s something I just will never get to. I still think it’s a pretty cool piece of history and would be great for a work bench or shop project.
The patent of Aug. 19, 1856 is listed on Datamp.org as Manufacturer: Not known to have been produced.
Note in the patent documents Brasher Iron Works is listed. This is actually the name of the town, along with the Iron Works.
