The Millers Falls Buck Rogers #714 Jack Plane
The first time you take a The Millers Falls Buck Rogers plane apart, it’s a little daunting to figure it out. Here is a pictorial view which should help. Once the screws are out of the handle, the handle slides up.
Note as well there is some adjustment in the frog. I’ve often heard the frog on these are not adjustable, but that’s not true, but you do need to either leave the back screw loos enough to be able to move it (possibly not the best approach) or slide the handle up and loosen the 3rd screw.

These next two images show the opening of the mouth with the frog all the way back, then all the way forward.
This particular blade is sharpening with a slight camber, so we won’t get full width, thin shavings. I do believe a straight sharpening would allow these to work very very well.
