All features of TYPE 18 except:
TT. Frog receiver design change provides an arched buttress.
* Rosewood handles re-introduced in 1949 have a thick varnish nearly obscuring the wood grain.
— V V. STANLEY letters on lateral lever are now read vertically.
* Most brass adj. nuts now have the regular parallel knurling.
* Later models of this type, c. 1958-1961, have handles and knobs of hardwood with a dark stain.

**”Bailey” Cast in Toe behind the knob
**”Made In USA” Cast behind frog
** May be Rosewood and may be hardwood painted black
**Large depth adjuster nut (1 1/4”)

**Smaller sizes have rib at heel, #5 and larger will have a rib at toe and heel
**Y shaped frog base
   **Frog adjustment screw

**”STANLEY” written vertically On Lateral Adjuster

**Note “Made In USA” may be further back (behind tote) on longer sizes

  **Check all listed, but telling signs of a type 19 is Y shaped frog receiver.
